Polyamides are used in the packaging industry for their excelent mechanical and barrier properties and for providing a quality finish thanks to their extreme gloss and high transparency.
NUREL offers a wide range of Promyde® polyamides and copolyamides for the production of film that adapts to different types of extrusion requirements: Blown, Three Bubble and Cast.
COPOLYAMIDES WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES
Our R&D&i team has developed a new range of copolyamides that complements the functionality of conventional PA6, these new solutions are highly demanded by the packaging industry:
HIGH TRANSPARENCY AND LOW CURLING
Promyde copolyamides have a Haze <1, providing a highly transparent and glossy finish to the containers. In addition, these same grades offer a solution to curling problems in asymmetric structures.
These grades are especially suitable for lids, thermoformed trays, pouches and vacuum packs.
These new copolyamides have an optimal performance in all conventional film transformation equipments.
LOW TEMPERATURE SEALABLE POLYAMIDES
Promyde's new copolyamides with a low sealing temperature capability allow the manufacture of recyclable polyamide monomaterial packaging solutions.
By replacing polyethylene with our sealable copolyamide, we obtain monomaterial, recyclable and lighter packaging solutions, while maintaining optimal mechanical properties.
These highly transparent and glossy film structures are especially recommended for sausages, cheese and sliced foods packaging that will stand out on the shelf in front of the consumer.
BARRIER FILM SOLUTIONS
Our copolyamides have different barrier properties to adapt to the different requirements of the packaging industry, since each container needs to adapt its permeability to each type of food.
Promyde offers polyamides with an oxygen barrier 3 times higher than standard PA6, improving the shelf life of foods. In addition, this type of polyamides allows to reduce the thickness of the containers, making them lighter, while maintaining excellent mechanical properties.
Additionally, the Promyde range offers high permeability solutions for those types of food that require a release of gases, such as cheeses whose maturation process is carried out once they have been packaged.
